I.
Introduction to "Safety in Lifting"
(approximately 5 minutes)
II.
Video presentation of "Safety in
Lifting" (approximately 21 minutes)
A.
Part 1 discusses proper usage of lifting
products (which includes wire rope, nylon web, wire mesh, chain, and fiber rope
slings)
B.
Part 2 discusses inspection techniques
of the above products in general. This is followed by a detailed analysis in the
"Sling Inspector Training" portion of the session.
III.
Post-test issued. These test questions
are taken directly from the video presentation. The difficulty level is
easy-moderate. (approximately 25 minutes).
IV.
Break for preparation of "Sling
Inspector Training" (if this option is taken). This portion lasts approximately
2-1/2 hours. Break time is approximately 10-15 minutes.
V.
Begins part II- "Sling Inspector
Training"
A.
Detailed discussion of ANSI B30.9
(Slings) standards, paying close attention to "Inspection" guidelines, frequency
of inspection, record-keeping, etc.
B.
Detailed discussion of OSHA 1910.184
(Slings) guidelines. There will be some comparisons mentioned about differences
in the OSHA and ANSI requirements. Note that A&B of this section may be
interchanged.
VI.
Conclusion of discussions, opportunity
for questions. Eventually, we will offer a test for the second part of the
session, but we do not currently offer a post test for the "Sling Inspector"
training portion of the program. If you desire to have that done, we can
possibly add it before coming to your facility. It would add approximately
another ½ hour to the session time. |
